I just got back from dropping it off. This shop put it on their hoist, agreed that it's probably the rear main seal and hope to start on it tomorrow. I hope they find nothing else wrong.
The engine is a 360. I do believe it is a 2 piece seal and that they have to drop the oil pan and replace the gasket. I just had the oil change 15 miles ago when I rested it in early Dec. I don't think they have to raise the engine on this van chassis to get the pan off.
