Replacing Refrigerator Cooling unit

Hello,

I need to replace my Dometic 2652 cooling unit. I have found replacements on eBay and online. I'm thinking of going with RV Cool

RV Cool Website

I was wondering if anyone had any dealings with them and how did it go?

My total cost is $475 with shipping.

Is there a better company for the same cost?

Thanks!

Dave
  • OP Here,

I would love to buy a brand new unit but I went on disability and my income has been cut in half. I have been in contact with David Force and he has been very responsive and helpful so far.

He informed me that the remanufactured units are done by the Amish and they charge them just like the new units. The boiler and evaporator unit are cut out and replaced. The coils are cleaned and flushed and repainted. These are also tested before they leave the factory. This to me sounds as close to one of the new units as I can get.

    I will keep you posted

  • I just replaced my Norcold 1200 lr, with a new amish replacement two weeks ago, and so far it seems to be working just fine, it has been very hot weather here in the northeast almost every day. I also purchased mine thru RV cooling unit ware house. The shipping took just 1 week, but that was due to the 4th of July holiday. I will agree with the other poster, regarding Mr Force. Dave seems to run his business very professionaly, He talked with me for several minutes, when I called him with a question on shipping. He assured me if I had any further questions regarding the transaction or any installation issues to give him a call back any time. I watched a couple of videos on Utube, and that gave me an idea what I was getting into, really not to too bad, It took about day for me to complete the install, using my sons to help pull this out and then place it back into place. David is great to deal with.
I'm doing a Helium replacement this weekend. This is probably the one Chris is talking about.

Picked up an Amish cooling unit for our rig 2 years ago & still working like a champ!
  • Most people prefer the Amish cooling units. Will cost more, but better built. Have you considered a residental refer replacement?
