One of these linked reviews is pure bunk:
"...up here at 6000 feet just could not get my Honda 2000 generator to consistently start my A/C unit. It usually would start it the first time, but eventually the head pressure on the compressor during restart would overload. The locked rotor amps on my Dometic was like 47 amps in the spec. manual.
.........................
Now the A/C starts VERY Easily (the Eco mode barely comes out of operation) and I can even run most of the other stuff in the camper without even thinking about it."
I'm assuming this is a 13,500 btuh unit. It is a Forest River forum. If the air conditioner is half that size, I'll concede the statements could be true. I'm one of the biggest eu2000i fans around. Having owned one for over 10 years and having run 2 air conditioners from it, I cannot believe it would ever start an air conditioner at 6,000 feet in any kind of weather you'd want to use the air conditioner. And to run "most of the other stuff" is folly. At 6,000 feet you're lucky to run a 1,000 watt microwave from the eu2000i with everything else shut off. Starting surge aside, the eu2000i would not carry the steady-state load of the air conditioner, again, in any kind of weather you'd want to run it.
