RV Products Roof Top Heat Pump Advice

2006 Bounder 37U here. 2 RV Products heat pumps and one RV Comfort ZC thermostat. Zone 2 AC works, Zone 2 fans work, Zone 1 cool and fan doesn't register on the thermostat display, just zone 1 and the inside temp. the zone 1 control board has a green light on it. Where is the problem?

  • I have the 8430A331 model, and I noticed the programming instructions are slightly different.

Which model tstat do you have?

Eric Botts ejb@airxcel.com has been very helpful dealing with my issues over the years.

Eric's procedure for resetting tstat is put in off position, remove fuse for 5 mins, replace fuse and wait 5 mins before turning tstat on.

Eric said most issues with the tstat is caused by interference from a 12v source. After a lot of troubleshooting, I traced my problem to a 12v wall wart that powered my HDMI/CAT 5 extender that ran from my entertainment center to the large TV, which was installed near the tstat. Replacing the wall wart fixed my issue.

RV Comfort ZC thermostat. Ive turned off the shop lights killed the ac and dc power thru out the coach. There's nothing powered up anywhere close to the coach and I've done the 5 min/5 min reset about 15 times now. Still nothing showing for zone 1

Have fun:) It is a tedious process. Doug

Went thru all that yesterday and resetting doesn't seem to activate the front zone 1. Where do I start dumping money? Thermostat? Control box? or new heat pump?

In response to replacing the HP. If your Radio or AC system in the car failed, would you replace the engine:B Control box is first, but you need to verify the wiring between the 2 Units. It is rare for a ZC tstat to be bad with your symptoms. Have you tried swapping the jumpers for Zone 1 and Zone 2 to make the rear Zone 1 and the front Zone 2? Doug
