Salem/McMinnville - where to buy a Honda eu1000i?

We are volunteers in the Dallas Oregon area and would like to buy a generator to have on hand in case of another power outage ...

Does anyone know where we could start looking for a Honda eu1000i or equivalent generator in this area ? Will be going into the Dallas/Salem/McMinnville areas for errands this weekend ..

  • What converter do you have? 45+ amps can overload a Honda 1000 if the batteries are low.
I agree with the 1000 if it provides what you need.

    Hi,

Why only 1000 watts? Do you intend to do battery charging only?

My thoughts also. I find on my rig 2k is just enough to charge batts and run a little extra. I would have no use for a 1k.

If you look at what rig we have and what rig y'all have, then you will see that all we need is something to run the furnace and/or keep the batteries charged to run the furnace. We can make 'cowboy coffee' or you a coffee press to make coffee in times of power outages.

We do not boondock, therefore only need to keep warm until power returns .. since we have a propane stove, and have batteries for radios - fm/am as well as weather radio, and cell phones.

We will do more research, but thought for what we need that a 1K would be sufficient. But definitely will ask around more in the next few months. But have promised our daughters that we will buy a generator to take with us when we return to Central Oregon again next winter.
  • Agree.. if this is for a home you'll need a lot more that 1kw.

  • I suggest that you do a little shopping on line with Wise Sales. We have bought two from that company and have received them rather quickly with no shipping charge. Usually their price is quite a bit better than any retailer, but not always. I would then suggest you shop at the retailers and see what their prices are. Take your Wise quote and see if they will match it, not counting sales tax if applicable. I did that when I bought my first one and tried to get the dealer to match the price, but they would not, so I bought from Wise. Unless you need something yesterday, Wise gets the stuff to you quickly, or has in the past at least.

  • Some friends bought theirs at Coastal Farm and Ranch in Oregon City

But I honestly doubt they got a better deal then Wise or Alamia, shipment time from Alamia would probably be two days
  • What park are you at?
In the portland area Lamphere Honda in Beaverton is pretty big.
Weather is suppose to be a lot warmer for the next 10 days or so. Might check Wise sales online and see how soon you could get one. Also check craigslist Portland.
