Satellite only works connected directly to DVR

I think robsouth has found the problem. I thought the OP was talking about an outside TV but now it makes more sense.

Are both interconnected? If so are they both on same channel? Are you going to in port on Sat then out port on DVR to TV in port, then using the DVR remote only?

It sounds like you are trying to run an outside TV with the Winegard cable hooked directly to the outside TV . That will not work.

You probably have a bad coax connection in your RV.
