Screen attached to awning.

I have an automatic awning on my coach. I'm considering adding a sun screen to it, but I'm confused as to whether a screen is available that will roll up with the awning. Anybody have experience or knowledge about such a setup?

In case you haven't already received a better understanding regarding the Vista Shade for Electric RV Awnings, allow me to provide as best of a clarification as I can.

The Vista Shade comes in two pieces: the main body and the insert. The main body measures 6-feet in height. The insert will measure the difference between the main body and the measurement of the drop you need. For instance, if you need a Vista Shade that will cover an 8-foot drop (from the roller to the ground), you will get the 6-foot high main body and an insert that is 2-feet high.

The main body is 6-feet high as that was determined to be the height folks would be able to reach up with ease.

And yes, the insert piece can stay on the roller and will roll up and out with the awning.

Let me know if you have any further questions regarding the Vista Shade.

Depends on if the screen is anchored to the ground and a few other things.

For going down the road I would (DO) remove the screen and stow it.

For HIGH WIND expected... I roll them up as one. (once I get everything working again)

Currently it is anchored such that a 70 MPH breeze won't bother it.
  • Thanks for the replies. I had gone to SHADE PRO's site, but still was a bit confused. Looks like the best way is the one foot section that rolls up with the main part zippered on when needed.

I am not aware of any that will role up with your awning. I just purchased shade screens for my awnings and there is a 1 foot section that is attached to the awning tube and the rest of the shade screen zips on at the length you order. The 1 foot section rolls up with your awning. I ordered mine from Shade Pro. You can order and they will ship it to you. I am pretty happy with the shade screens.
