Setting center angle for solar panels

Northwest Angle, Minnesota (49.38457°N) is the most northerly latitude in the contiguous 48.

Key West, Florida (24.544701°N)is the most southerly latitude in the contiguous 48.

So if you wanted to create adjustable solar panels for the best angle of conversion, one should observe 37.259803 would be the median latitude. Setting one's center for that and whatever maximum adjustment one would want should suffice.

I didn't include either Hawaii or Alaska. Very few might want to drive to either.

  • That's the idea. If you have adjustable mounts you can get max conversion for whatever latitude.
  • I think I would set my panels for the most probable latitude I would be camping at. it would also depend on what I was planning on running on my panels, more summer stuff or more winter stuff. if all of my camping was south of the mason dixon line, I would set my panels accordingly. but don't they make adjustable mounts anyway?
