Slide ceiling sag

The ceiling in the slide on our 2008 Laredo 5er is sagging slightly on both sides of the lights. There are no signs or smells of water. We are concerned that there might be some nasty problem. Any thoughts?

  • The roof doesn't sag, just inside. Wouldn't be the first glue to loosen in the camper. thx

  • If the ceiling construction is like my lightweight, there is a layer of foam (about 1 1/2" thick in my case) between a thin lauan roof layer and a thin lauan ceiling layer. The inner ceiling layer (probably less than 3/32" thick) might have delaminated from the foam and is sagging down. This could happen even without water intrusion.

Can you see if the roof is also sagging down in the area where the ceiling is sagging?

Just a thought on a possibility.

  • Thanks for reply. It rained heavy last Wednesday. We checked all windows and were tickled to see all previous repairs successful. Didn't notice any ceiling problems, which doesn't mean that there aren't any. Since then have been in the heat. Another 95 degree day in central NY way above low 80 avg... So much for traveling north to escape se VA heat and humidity.
  • I had a roof leak and patched it... recoated it with epdm liquid rubber.no more leaks and the saging of ceiling fixed its self. with summer heat the bumps and sags just disappeared on its slef.

so next rain check for leaking.

    my cost was $400.
