  • Is this the bedroom slide? Or a small side in the main body of the trailer? Trailer or 5th wheel?
  • It's the small one thAt has bunk beds! Travel trailor and it is a 07 model.by the way I did not have the battery in it do to winter storage!!

Most slides will not operate correctly on shore power alone. They need a fully charged battery installed, or jump from truck battery with heavy duty cables, direct to trailer battery cables.

  • Try jumping from a vehicle battery. Often the converter alone will not put out enough current to operate the slides.
  • Question: When it DID work previously, did it "tilt?"

Tilting indicates binding in my book. If the bottom is going in and it tilts outward at the top, something is binding at the top.

On a 2007 travel trailer it could be as serious as structural failure of the trailer frame. It's old enough, and probably one of those wonderful Lippert frames. A friend had to trade his in because the frame failed at the slide.
  • Appropriate lubrication does wonders too. Slides are finicky mechanical beasts, and like other objects that need regular maintenance, the right lube in the correct locations usually corrects the issues.

Unless there's damage due to the lack of lubrication and/or other causes...
