Slideout questions

We are looking at Class C motorhomes, and I was wondering where I can get info on which manufacturers slideout mechanisms are in which coaches I have seen videos on you tube but I want to do some research on slideout issues before I really start to look at coaches. I have seen you tube videos on lippert systems that are scary..... But that was on a full wall class A coach. So any help, or hints on what to look for when testing the slideout is greatly appreciated!

There's only three types of slide mechanisms I'm aware of: hydraulic, cable and screw-drive (Schwintek). As far as I know, Lippert provides 90+% of the market.

LOTS more than what you posted. While it seems LCI has 90%, the figure is a lot smaller. LCI has purchsed some Slide makers, but THOSE are still the original design. There are different makes and designs on Hyd systems. Same with Electric gear type systems. I would say there are at least 20 to 30 different systems in use in the past 20 years. Maybe more. They ALL have different designs and operations. Doug
