Slideout starting to mark carpet

I've had good luck with my 9 year old Cougar but I have just noticed the slideout has started to make two marks on the carpet after I extend it. They are both about 4 inches across and equally distant from the sides.

Maybe I just haven't noticed it before, which is possible.

Any thoughts on what could be causing it? The slideout appears to be sealing OK and no changes in its operation.

My cougar's slide isn't leaving marks because I raised the slide up about 1/4" - but the reason I did it was because the wood in the slide had warped down and was dragging in the center.

I have installed a roller - attached to the outer frame of the Trailer - and had to do some imagineering of it's placement and setup. It's not leaving any marks anymore.

You may want to raise the slideout up 1/4" by unlocking the lock nut and raising the screw 1/4".

Good point about raising the slide out....

  • Mine has always pushed a slight roll in the carpet ahead of the slide as it comes in. Being as the slide is in more than out, it has left a permanent roll in the carpet now. We just live w/ it.
  • I'm wondering how I can even see these nylon slides under the slideout?

I sure hope the slideout itself needs to be removed to access them.

    Thanks

  • Generally there are nylon slides at each end that the large slide glides on. My guess the glides are either worn or damaged allowing the slide room to sag.
  • I will be watching this to see what the problem is...I brought a new Sierra TT that did this also...my selling dealer told me "It's only a small mark you can live with it"..
