[SOLVED]2006 Tiffin Phaeton loss of power on some components

First off, hello! Also I'm rather new to the world of RV's as well so given that I apologize beforehand if my question is greenhorn.

I recently bought a '06 Tiffin Phaeton 40QDH and while tinkering around I hit the 12v Disc. switch on console and ran the battery down trying to start. Then used Aux. Start and ran those house batteries down rather quickly too. Ended up figuring out the problem of charge and hitting the 12v Dsc. again, jumped that battery and ran the Onin genny a bit. Everything is fine now on that front BUT some things do not work now (I'm assuming they're ran off the 12v chassis batts). Things like the blower for the dash heater/AC, the RH/LH shades, map light and camera LCD screen. Everything else works flawlessly. Funny thing is, when I hold the Aux. Start switch those components run just fine. And they all worked as intended before I ran the batts down.

Any thoughts on what the issue(s) could be? Would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  • And that did it. Was about the 10th or 12th fuse I checked and it was blown. 10 amp labeled "Ignition Power (B/B)".

Thanks for the replies and for the advice.
  • Ok, wow.. Thank you very much! I'm going to head out and do some testing right now. Again, thank you. I've worried myself sick on this.
  • On your year model Tiffin, Tiffin used a separate 12 volt solenoid activated by the ignition side of the key switch to supply power to those components. When you push the Aux Start, you bypass that solenoid wire. There are 2 activation wires to that solenoid. The power from the AUX switch and the Power from the Ignition side of the switch. So, you have a blown fuse for that Ignition side wire going to that solenoid. You need to check all the fuses(Chassis) at the various chassis fuse blocks. It will NOT be labeled as such. You will have to test EACH chassis fuse until you find the Bad/blown fuse. Doug
  • I am able to start the RV just fine though. Without using Aux. Start now. If I'm able to turn it over and get it(the engine) running wouldn't that mean the other accessories would get power too (the ones running off of chassis batts)?

X2 on dead batteries...can you start the engine without using the boost?
  • sounds like the start battery is dead, pretty sure the generator doesn't charge the start battery. you will need to charge the start battery
