Dry air, the sky must be falling.
Been dealing with it for decades here in the back woods of Northern Michigan. Never seen it as a life threatening issue.
I love how the forum can take a grain of sand and blow it into a huge problem.
For YOU, it may not "be a problem".
But for folks like myself, with severe allergies and asthma, IT IS a problem that needs some attention.
Some folks just live with it, and some folk like myself TAKE ACTION to PREVENT FURTHER AGGRAVATING my health (keeps health costs down to)..
I know from my own experiences I end up in the DRs office more times if I don't keep a close watch on the humidity levels.. Too dry and I end up with severe asthma attacks, severe sinus and chest infections..
It IS Something I can avoid by taking action which results in better health and much less trips to the DRs office.
Severe static buildup can and will eventually cause failure of your electronic devices like cell phones, tablets, PCs, Laptops, radios and now days many home appliances if the discharge happens at the wrong spot.
It also IS a severe problem for manufacturers in the electronics and many other industry. Failing to control electrical static discharge (ESD) can damage equipment, costing companies a lot of money.. Some industries like printing or paper handling must make sure static build up is controlled other wise paper will stick together or sparks in the wrong places will set fires in a hurry.
You can continue on with planting your head in the sand and ignoring it if you like.. Other folks here may like to know what can be done and what is effective.
