suggestions for screen door with dog

Put a screen cover over it.

I use a metal baby gate for our dogs, and our toddler.

Perfect timing for this thread. Our new pup has started destroying the screen door.
I know it's Rube Goldburg but I used a piece of coroplast and painters tape hoping that she will grow out of it.
Our other dog never bothered the screen when he was a pup.

There are good options for the screen itself.
I build screen rooms with super strong material. So strong that a man can't rip it if he tries. It is also approved pet screen.

A stronger screen will not roll into the groove of standard bug screen. You would have to have it made in a separate frame, then overlay it onto the door.

However, the single biggest issue is the frame itself. The RV screen doors are very light duty and flimsy. You can put the strongest screen in the world in there and it won't rip. But a determined dog will break the frame in his quest to get through it.

I agree. If pushed hard enough, the screen door will just fly open.

I think baby gate or training the dog is the best option.

yup. that's what we did for the grandkids. And we then replaced the top section with plexiglass as well. We can leave the door open for outside view, if we need ventilation there are plenty of windows to open.

At current prices screen doors are way cheaper than dogs. Unless you want a pit bull at the pound.

When training our GSD puppy (who grew to 130 lbs) we used those plastic expandable baby gates to teach him to respect boundaries. And the best part is they leave no trace, as there are no screws or brackets.

Baby gate is what I used to train our Dogs, they didn't weigh. 80#
