To those that have replaced their cooling units
What did you do with the old core? I want to cut the old one up but no idea what the internal pressure is. How did you depressurize it ?

The only hazardous substance is the small amount of sodium chromate. The ammonia is really non-hazardous as far as disposal is concerned.
Of course, the sodium chromate is pretty much what the Erin Brockovich story was about.
