The cost for these tools is appropriate. They are high voltage insulated tools specifically made for doing hot work (voltage present), usually in high voltage situations that are life threatening.
I would take the "no voltage" version if they were half the price... - HondavalkExplorer II

Many years back aka about 40 yrs
When you do that stuff, insulated tools mean keeping your life and limbs
I've seen some nasty electrical burns
You really don't want to be there when somebody shorts out a 277v panel and blows (3) 800 amp fuses on the Utily pole
Now I understand you signature picture. lol - SpridleExplorerWiha tools are great. I have had the 10 piece insulated screwdriver set since 2010. Hands down the best screwdrivers available for electrical work. Take out the credit card and do it. Haha

I've made 3 phase welders dance across the floor. No burns involved, though.:D
FWIW, I have a couple of pairs of insulated drivers, one pair always in the 'lectric bag. I don't buy the really costly ones since there is the possibility of loss (from what I do in the field). - MrWizardModeratorI have done Hot electrical service work, cutting in a new service or panel etc...

This has nothing to do with the quality of the fastener or the quality of the tool. They do this because the Japanese screws are not Philips. They are JIS: Japanese Industrial Standard. Buy a JIS screwdriver and you'll no longer have issues with not being able to loosen most screws.
- gboppExplorerX2 on the Horrible Freight screwdrivers. Definitely not the best but, they get the job done.
- RoyBExplorer IIWhat did you do - sneak off to San Diego again...
Roy Ken - westendExplorerWiha is good stuff. It is marketed to tradesman that need good tools. Vessel Megadora tools are some good ones, too.
