Since the AC unit is likely to be from 2006 I'd check the amperage draw of the unit. Perhaps a simple cleaning will reduce the load. Compare the draw of your old unit to the newer units. If your old unit draws more than the new units you can consider replacing the old unit but it will be miles cheaper to simply turn off the AC while using the microwave.
