After the "offensive remark" we are told the OP should know everything about it. Now sometimes I will ask a question I know the answer to in hope of teaching, but who is the OP teaching? If just wanting to have the discussion for entertainment, fine. If wanting to learn things?
I made some assumptions that the detail of my OP would make it somewhat obvious that I knew something about electricity. Poor assumption on a forum like this, perhaps. I added a clarification to the OP as a result. :)
I posted the OP because, based on my experience and understanding, it seemed to make sense. But to be humble (and safe), I wanted to run it by some folks that I figured may have done something similar (hence the use of
this forum) and may offer some wisdom. e.g. "yup, that'll work, but in my experience, such-and-such was simpler." or "I tried that and forgot to do such-and-such, so be careful there."
Goal #1 is to find the best solution for me. Goal #2 is capturing the conversation so that others can learn from the discussion when looking to do something similar with their house/rig. Goal #3 is to be as civil as possible.
