I am maintaining this battery at 13.75 volts Mena. If and when it stops working for an hour at night, it'll go on vacation for a week or two disconnected. Low antimony batteries have a low self discharge rate. But once a month I am going to apply 14.5 volts and see just how far above 10% of amp hour rating the charging current is. 10 amperes or more, then the battery remains at 14.5 until such time as charging current decreases to 5.0 or less. This means maintenance float value is too low. The battery may have to operate 24/7 at 13.75 float. It is what it is.
My untrusty WalFart battery cracked a positive strap deep in the battery positive cell. Someone is playing games trying to use salvaged plate material to make intercell connectors and straps. Johnson Controls knows better than that. That will be the last Johnson Controls battery that ever gets near my car.
