For what it's worth, it looks like that at least some Rolls-Surrette batteries have considerably thicker plates than Concorde (they make Lifeline) batteries do:

I have a question ... does anyone know more about "traction" batteries? It seems that they may be superior for use in RVs than just plain deep cycle batteries - if they could be found in sizes that will fit into most RVs.
