Voyager AWM930/AWM93W radio comes on randomly ??

I have a Voyager AWM930/AWM93W radio in my TT. For some unknown reason it comes on randomly. Some time at night. . :M, . . some time in the day.

I have put a black tape over the remote sensor and have use the red button to reset the radio.

Since I am a full timer, I am in (or near) the TT most of the time when it comes on. Some time no one is in the trailer.

Any suggestions ??? . . . :h

  • If you are positive it has no weather alert, then this does happen sometimes. The only sure fix is to install a On/Off switch and mount next to the cabinet by the radio. Doug

Some electronic devices come on automatically when there is a power outage and the power is restored. This also happens if the power drops and then picks up again (power hit/spike). Perhaps there is a drain on the power system that looks like a power outage to the radio. The drain could be in the park power or something in your RV.

If the radio is equipped with a weather alert function, maybe it is getting confused by weather alert like signals...military, aviation..

    No Weather alert.

The radio is 12V so the 110V A/C should not effect it ???? The battery should smove out any spikes.
