Water Heater "Fault" Light

We have a 2008 Damon Tuscany with a washer/dryer combo unit. When the washer is used we get the "Fault" light for the water heater on the control panel above the entry door. Any idea what may cause this? Also, the refrigerator is not working in the propane mode when traveling. Propane is turned on (stove works). Not sure if these issues are related. This rig is new to us, thanks for any assistance you can give.

  • I will have to find and check the excess flow switch. I do not know where it is. Now the fault comes on instantly on both electric and gas mode. This is the first time it has done this. Also, there is a LP Valve switch with a green light next to it. The green light does not come on in either switch position. Thank you all for this assistance.
  • Sooner I think the fault light is for gas only, not electric. So if it's steady on sounds like the WH is not lighting on gas. I agree with low/no propane flow. Have you checked to see if you tripped the stupid "excess flow" device from hell to make sure you're getting full pressure on gas supply?
  • With two seemingly unrelated issues I would start at the batteries with a voltmeter and preventative maintenance on the terminals, connectors, and grounds. A low voltage could effect both items. Take voltage measurements first and write them down. Take pictures of the wiring so you don't forget how they go back on when you change batteries some day.
  • Are you using the water heater on electric or gas when you get the fail light? You might have to have your gas supply pressure checked. Two conditions on gas sounds like a flow/pressure issue.

Does the fault light stay on or cycle? Not unusual for it to cycle. Washer empties WH pretty quick and light just indicates ignition attempts.
Some have reported that refrig gets "blown out by wind" when trying to drive with it on. Does it work on propane when parked?

Cuffs054, not sure, have not waited to see. We have been turning the water heater switch off and then back on to reset it. Works most of the time. We are not using the washer this morning and the fault light is on. May still be on from yesterday,we are trying it now. Thanks, I will let you know.
