WFCO WF-8725 - How Do I Add Another Circuit/Breaker

Hello! I just purchased a 2013 Micro-Lite Twist and it has the WFCO WF-8725 power panel. I am new to camping in a camper with power so I have no clue here. I have spent hours searching Google and, surprisingly, did not find what I needed.

I am trying to add another outlet to the camper as it just has one now and is not in a good location. I would like to add a breaker to the power panel to run this outlet. I have 2 open slots on the panel for a new breaker and will be purchasing the new 15amp breaker at Home Depot. My question is...how do I wire it? :) I can see how the main breaker and additional breaker are wired now but I am still a little confused as to where the black, white, and ground wires will go on the new breaker. The black and white wires seem pretty easy but I am not seeing another opening on the grounding bar where I could run the ground wire for the new breaker.

Can anyone help out a newbie?

Thanks so much!!!

  • Since you're asking this question, I might suggest you find an electrician to finish the job for you. I would also recommend getting rid of the converter/charger and put in a good unit.

For me adding a circuit is kind of an "In my sleep" (well not quite) Job (but I will be lying down on the job.. due to the location of the breaker box.

But frankly if you have to ask how to do it, Get someone who KNOWS how to do it to work with you the first time.. Either have them do it while you watch or supervise you doing it... The results of a mistake can be serious and Thus I will not tell you here how to do it.. If you are near me (Currently east of Flint MI next week moving to south of port huron) I might oversee your work but I'm not comfortable tele-advising.. It is simple truly but I mistakes can be fatal.
  • Thank you all for the advice! I think my main concern was just where to put the ground. It sounds like the agreement is that it is okay to put the ground in with one of the other ground wires. Everything else seems pretty straight forward. I feel better now. :)
  • the wfco 8725 has a neutral and ground bus with 4 slots each.
Ground: Main incoming green, converter green, #1 circuit green and chassis bare. So you would double one if allowed by WFCO.

    Neutral should have one available.

An alternative is the daisy chain (pigtail) off the existing outlet, no new breaker needed.
  • you can add the ground wire to an existing ground wire slot. 2 wires under the screw is code compliant.
  • Do you need a basic explanation of hot, neutral, ground?
Otherwise you pop in the breaker and wire same as the others.
Exact same wiring as your home except the neutral and ground bus are not bonded.
    Be safe, unplug.

BTW code allows the main + 5 branch circuits max on a 30 amp panel.
  • Black is hot and goes to the breaker. White is neutral and goes to the neutral bar. Add another ground bar for the ground wire. You might be able to combine it another ground wire.

Get some help as you want this done right and verified.
