Our "new to us" 1981 camper came with an older (no date) Group 31 battery that says it is a "maintenance free" NAPA 31-90S HD Commercial. It has screw-in battery caps that are flush with the top instead of higher up caps like usual.
From some digging on the www it seems it is a sort of starting battery with huge cranking amps. No idea of deep cycling ability. It only weighs 56 lbs so not that impressive for weight wrt its size.
Anyway it is "maintenance free" except I can unscrew the caps and use an hydrometer in its cells.
(I have set it aside from the camper and replaced it with two used T-1275s that are still good to go) No idea what to do with this 31 thing that is not dead, but which is not a proper RV battery either AFAIK.
