Which is the best converter to buy?

Input needed for a new voltage converter/charger. Thanks.

You don't need a new converter if you never boondock.

The Parallax unit you have is a 30 amp (AC--120v) unit that may do say 55 amps at 13.8v DC. If you are on shore power forever, that is all you ever need forever.

For that scenario, you should have only one 12v battery and replace it every couple years or so. If you have more battery bank than that, it will need a charger that can go into the 14s and even the 15 volt range at times, like a guy who actually boondocks and needs to keep his batteries alive. You don't need that.

I see several amp models. How do I know which to buy?

What is currently in the RV ???? That will lead you in the right direction.

Or call Randy @ BEST CONVERTER
  • Progressive Dynamics 9200 w/ optional pendant.
I have the 9245 45 amp so I can run it on a 1000 watt Honda. The 1000 Honda won't run anything bigger.
  • How many batteries? How often do you charge with a generator?
What size wire to the battery? How long?
  • I am perfectly satisfied 2with my Progressiv Dynamics PD9260 with the optional pendant. There are many others that seem to be just as good.
