white hex head self tapping screws. Found Them

OP back, I found them!

Here is how I described them on Google and up they came, all over EBay.

"200 Pan White Head Screw # 8 X 1" Quad Drive Self Tap Drilling Screws Cargo RV"

Also there is a big difference between self drilling and self tapping. I needed self drilling to create new screw holes in the metal trim, self tapping wouldn't work.


I'm looking to replace some of my rusted out white self tapping screws that are used all over the camper. I looked at McMasters and just got a headache.

    Ron,
    Have you had the misfortune to try Clutch "G" heads? My Starcraft is full of these and I've pitched a few hundred, replacing them with a different screw type.

    Those hex head screws are easy to drive with the correct bit. I've driven thousands of them when I was in the steel building world.


    Maybe that was my issue with hex heads, they never really felt solidly held by the driver socket, very wobbly.

    If I ever decide to use hex heads I will bring the driver with me and check the fit.

    A siding supplier will also have them. My hardware store is close so that would be my first shot.

    I have used screws ( hex head ) in mobile home repairs that are designed for installing h/a vents that are white. A h/a supply house has them in bulk. Not sure how many different lengths are available so may not work for you.
