- pianotunaNomad IIIHi GordonThree,
Last year I had 4g coverage from T-Mobile in Saskatchewan. I did not get a chance to try it in other provinces as they cut me off. Of course, it could be different this year.
I can't speak to Mexico. - GordonThreeExplorer

GordonThree,
T-Mobile has the same deal--you can use it without extra fees. The time limit before cut off is about 45 days. DAMHIK
The OP may have better results in the technology forum--which is all about communications.
As far as I'm aware T-Mobile only provides 2g data while international, whereas att is 4g data. I'm far from an expert, but recently researched this same subject looking for a replacement for my very expensive grandfathered Verizon plan. - pianotunaNomad IIIGordonThree,

att has the advantage of data working in Canada and Mexico without extra fees, so long as you use it mainly in the States - fj12ryderExplorer IIISolely depends on how much, and how often you plan on using the hotspot and cell phone.
We use TracPhone(Verizon) for cell phone since we use them very little. Runs around $10-$20 per month.
We use Straight Talk for the hotspot which is relatively expensive, but we only use it a couple months of the year. We don't have to keep it active, just put some data on it when we plan on using it. - LwiddisNomadWhat did your research determine? Or should I check for you?
- Bill_SatelliteExplorer IIIf you are 55+ then I see the T-Mobile plan as the best currently available (I snagged the Mobley plan so don't need it). You will need to have your phone service with T-Mobile (not a bad thing) and for $70/month you get unlimited everything on both phones. You can add unlimited 4G hotspot to 1 phone for $25 and you have unlimited unlimited for $95/month! 1 phone will have full unlimited data on that phone and a 3G hotspot if necessary and the line with the $25 add-on is unlimited 4G.....yes, unlimited, not network optimization or anything else unless you exceed 50GB/month. I plan to drop Verizon and sign up for T-Mobile when we get settled back in Houston later this month as they also have a buy one get one free on the Samsung S9 and they are NO CONTRACT so if you don't like it you just stop it. They will even give you 14 days to try the new service with the new phones and if you are not happy you just return everything and resume where you left off since no trade in is required.
- donn0128Explorer IIVerizon is still the best
- Bill_SatelliteExplorer II.
- MEXICOWANDERERExplorerForgive me, but isn't the Electronics forum more in line with your request?
