Xantrex Prosine 2.0 Inverter/charger died! :(

The Subject pretty much says it all.

No throughput, immediately trips shorepower breaker, doesn't trip generator breaker, but does not pass the AC through to the coach.

Inverter function seems to work fine.

Returned from Xantrex and Not repairable, no parts available. The 12 Volt version is no longer made.

I see a few offered on Amazon.com and ebay.

I can find no other 2 KW pure sinewave inverters that will fit the space. The storage forward of the battery compartment (to the right in the photo) in in a slide out which would make wiring difficult if not hazardous.

Thoughts?

    Hi Rainbird

I agree those Prosine2.0 units when working are nice units
Got one in pieces here on the shop bench with the dreaded error code 0258...
Right now I believe there are defective caps seeing that they used the cheapest ones they could source at the time in the early 2000's.

    Hi there..
I can seem to find the Prosine numeric codes online anywhere. I have a Prosine 2.0 with "Dreaded Error Code 0258"...
How do I fix that? (I am an electrical Engineer, so I know just enough to be dangerous :-)

    Thanks

i think it would have been a better idea to start a new one

Prosine is very bad about NOT doing repairs
if its in warranty they replace it,
if its out of warranty, tough luck, unless you find a guy that specializes in them
    NO published info from them

the only thing i can recommend is the use of a 'component' wave form tracer/comparator, they look like an oscilloscope but are not
a bad FET , CHIP, diode etc.. will show a different waveform from a know good part of the same thing
