DIY Truck Bed Drawer Setup for F150..

After many, many years of doing this RV thing with a travel trailer, I have always put all my junk in the truck bed and admittedly take WAY TOO MUCH JUNK!!πŸ˜†

Finding said JUNK, I had to spend more time finding what I was looking for than anything..  I saw a post and some youtube videos of some DIY truck bed drawers...  I didn't feel like paying some $1500 for a commercial plastic setup.

So I set out to do this..

Too much JUNK! πŸ™ƒ

In the end, I'm very happy with it and have gotten several comments from other camping neighbors who say my using it several times a day and finding the thing I was looking for in an instant.  If I ever do a "version 2.0", I know what I'd do different, as I essentially built it with a basic idea and just let it flow to be something functional..

  • Okay, so my links don't work??  It's from Imgur, so those work on other sites??  I guess I've been gone too long from this new site for too long? (I originally joined RV,net in 2003)

Anyway, I'll figure out the correct way to post pics here...  So please be patient.. 😁  Or maybe point me in the right direction to be able to post pics here.. (that it if you still can at all??)  Dunno???  Mitch

      Mitch,

The new web site is a bit different than the old one. Some parts easier, others harder. Normal for computer programs and how programmers work.

I've seen a few boxes like that home built. Not always as slick looking as store bought, at times, more functional, others less. At least if you know you need a 6.5" drawer height, max store bought is say 6" or shorter, you can make them the correct height to put that junque in a drawer and take it along! Or if you need a 30" one side, and 18" works for the other on width....you can make them to fit.

Like everything else in life, your needs change, or you figure out the, I had a good idea, but I should have done this_____!

Thanks Marty.  Yes, this is one of those things that you say "why didn't I think of it sooner" kind of things...

But, life changes enabled me to be able to spend the time needed to do this in my "Man Cave", which did take a bit longer than I thought, but still made the scheduled camping trip in June as planned.

I found all the junk that came out of the truck went back into the drawers with room to spare! ha, ha...  πŸ‘  And I can find it all much easier too!
