- gmcsmokeExplorerthis thread is a good example that even with true car, KBB, Edmunds, GM supplier, Ford X plan and ten other car buying sites out there most don't understand the true price of a new vehicle.
- BedlamModeratorI bought mine at $500 under invoice minus applicable rebates. I could see you getting that number if you buy one of the optioned out units that has a rebate program running.
Some people will get a lousy trade in value to make it look like they are getting a deal on their vehicle - I sold my previous truck privately and did not play those number games. - jarata1ExplorerWhere do you sell trucks?
- bbaker2001Explorerstill worth looking into.
- Chuck_thehammerExplorerNo one sales a New truck at a LOSS.
they can always sell it to another dealer for invoice. - APTExplorerAfter you buy, best to stop looking. There will always be someone who gets a better deal and willing to brag about it. Gotta be content with what you got!

Very seriously doubt that was the actual invoice the dealer paid. Could you post this invoice price, and the MSRP?
Actual invoice is what I start negotiations at. - VanishedExplorerDo you have to be a military veteran that works on a farm while going to college and turning in a competitive car? LOL
Way too often I've found that it IS marketing hype - and the dealers advertise them with additive rebates and specials that no one can actually get.. (as well as leave off 'dealer prep', 'delivery' and other BS charges..
To me I agree with above poster - find the invoice pricing, take off rebates at the time, get another $500 or so from dealer and call it a day.. On most Rams in the $50-$60k range this would be about $10k under MSRP usually..
I've found most of these guys that get the trucks for $14k under sticker out the door have been hoodwinked by the process, inflated trade in values, etc.. - guidryExplorer IIActual invoice is what I start negotiations at.
- bbaker2001Explorerbut it is rare to get 14,000 off don't you think so
