Does his V10 still have the stock engine-driven fan? That should be primary. The electric fan should really only be needed in stop and go traffic. He probably needs a new fan clutch (assuming a previous owner didn't remove it in favor of the electric fan...)
Also, he should think about pre-emptively replacing the oil pump shaft before it breaks.
