1st DEF fill up
Filled the DEF for the 1st time today. Took 4.2 gallons. Mileage was 5400. According to the calculator, that equates to just under 1300 miles per gallon. Dash info center said I had 470 miles left on ...

My 2012 just tells me if I am "ok" on DEF or "under half". No gauge to speak of. I quit trying to figure out my DEF usage within the first few thousand miles.
I know it uses more when I am towing my 15,000+ fiver. But while towing I seem to use more when pulling grades as compared to towing across flat areas, or it uses more when fighting a head wind.
I know when I am not towing, I rarely add DEF.
