2006 Aerolite cub 195

I have a question for all the Hybrid peeps. I am considering downsizing to a smaller camper from my 30' TT and I have a friend of mine that wants to sell his 2006 Aerolite cub 195. I am somewhat interested in it and I am curious on any thought on this brand, any one not like it, issues that it has had, and just downsizing to a HTT in general. Thanks for any comments or thoughts!

one negative is that it probably has the infamous Thermarest tent ends.
they had so many issues that Dutchmen dropped them.
also it probably has the more infamous Thermarest mattresses, which were totally hated.

also, Thor Industries has a terrible reputation regarding help with any of their hybrid issues.

you need to thoroughly go over it with a fine tooth comb.
  • I have a 2000 Aerolite Cub 19, its a good trailer, my bunk door developed a leak at the top. I ended up rebuilding the entire bunk door but honestly wasn't too bad of a job. The Cub 19 pulls great behind my half ton, I have pulled it across multiple states without issue. The only complaint I have about the trailer is how warm the bunks can get in the Kansas sun, the fabric is a dark blue almost black and they soak up the heat. My AC will run almost all day when its in the 90's. I have considered making some type of divider out of heavy fabric to close off the front and rear bunks when we are not sleeping but haven't come up with anything that works well.
  • we love our HTT, lots of room in a small parking and towing package. The one you are looking at only has one tent end, and if it is a problem, you could replace that easily enough. If the rest is sound and the price is low enough, there is not much risk. Maybe he will let you try it out? sometime after 2006, I see that the model here has a really cool larger tent attached - see this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cx2dLd_difE. Id' be tempted to upgrade to this anyway!

Jim, the OP is looking at the Cub 195, which has two tent ends.
    Not one.
