2008 F350 DRW SB and Arctic Fox 811

Does anyone know if the f350 DRW SB would work with an Arctic Fox 811? I think that is the last year Ford made the f350 DRW with a short bed option. Just looking at weights and towing a boat. Also how wide is a DRW? I may have to extend front jacks to clear the DRW. Thanks!

It wouldn't. You are looking at hanging a camper out two and a half feet and towing a boat?

Great heavy duty fifth wheel machines, but for an Arctic Fox 8'11 you need an 8 foot box to be realistic.

Well, lets see your boat. Sometimes when people say towing a boat they mean a light lake boat. Other times people think that trucks and campers almost loaded can put a boat out the back three feet and the boat weighs 6000 pounds.

Your AF optioned out loaded with water, propane and supplies is going to be at near 4000 pounds. Your hitch and tongue weight are next. Then measure your real axle weight and decide how you like to feel on the road.

What are you posting? My short bed F250 towed a 20’ enclosed trailer while carrying an Arctic Fox 811. 10k mikes a year and all over the western mountain ranges.
  • You should be fine. I assume you will get the short bed 811 version.
I towed a 4,500 pound boat behind my 11' TC which hung about 3' off the back of my bed. I used a SuperHitch and 48" Super Truss. They are rated for 6,000 pounds without WDH and 12,000 with WDH. I can't imagine you're talking about a boat larger than that.
  • The 811 is optioned as long or short bed camper.

    Arctic Fox 811

A DRW short bed (with front jack extensions) would be great for the 811 and with the proper hitch extension should be very good at towing a boat trailer.

Wish I had a short bed DRW because we would still own our Eagle Cap 850.

You have a good combo there- have some really great adventures.
