Just to chime in, it was the Ford 6.4 that pushed my Dad into retiring from RVing several years before he planned to otherwise. I don't know all the details, but the worry, frustration, and expenses took the joy out of it for him.
Get a Cummins. Get a Duramax. Get a Powerstroke 7.3 or 6.7. Just avoid the 6.0 and 6.4 unless you're able to fix 'em yourself.
