GM and Ford use or used the same lift pump from Bosch. Both were quite prone to failures due to contaminents in the fuel. Earlier CP3 I think was the designation did not have the problem. Incidentially I think that is what Ram is still using. At last I read while Ford was refusing to honoe warrenty on them GM was quietly taking care of the failures.
