They price their policies accordingly. More failures without warranty support means more claims paid and higher premiums.
Price a policy for each and see what it comes out to.
Totally unfounded. Since you are making this claim, perhaps you could provide the price comparison? Need some proof to back this statement up.
Over at FTE 1n 2013. I posted this:
My MBI has risen from 16.00- 6 months to about 20.00. I am still under the 3 yr 36000 warranty.
I expect it may go up somewhat then, but since the GM mechaicals are mostly covered till 100,000 miles, probably not a lot.
It IS a insurance policy, which by definition is sharing of risk...Been like that since the the whole concept started back in the sailing ship days.
So a vehicle that has a proven reliability record will get lower rates..
Nothing fraudulent about that.
I am also pretty sure that it is a fairly new product, so there is no track record to look at....So nobody can say for certain just where rates will go.
I do like the idea of having all my eggs in the same basket this way though. No matter what the determined cause is, vandalism, my oops, bad fuel etc....I should be covered. None of the "it's the other guys responsibility" dance while I sit without a truck.
That post was in this thread:
Geico MBI
If you read that thread, you will see that in 2013 the Ford owners cost was about 3X what I was paying.
I have no idea what the cost difference is now... It is possible that they are now equal.. If so, that would mean that Ford finally stepped up.... That would be a good thing.
If you want to find out what it is now... Call them and get some quotes. I am not going to do it for you... You wouldn't believe me anyway.
