2011 Keystone Slide won't come in.

After getting home from weekend camping I put the slide out as usual to unload... No noises, or anything it operated as normal. Now slide will not go back in again... Hit the switch and NOTHING.

I'm assuming there is no power to the switch but I checked the fuses and don't see any red lights on (I haven't pulled each fuse yet as it was getting dark).

I read somewhere the slide breaker may be somewhere else other than the fusepanel? There is some electrical stuff inside the hitch beside the battery.

Anyone know where to look on the 27RBPR?

  • I had a problem with mine that turned out to be a loose wire. On my trailer tongue are two selonoids that run between the battery and the slideouts. The wires were loose on the selonoids and when they were tightened up the slide worked. Not sure if yours is set up the same way but it is something to look into.

That's funny! I will look into a flexable extension for the drill I carry anyway to deploy the stabilizers.

that's exactly my intention too. :)

There is only about 3" of space between our slide and the ceiling when it is all the way out (get more space as it comes in). I bought a flexible drill extension to make things a little easier to get in there. I suppose you can do it by hand but when I attempted that and considering the lack of space I had, I could only turn it 1/4 turn at a time, which moved the slide about 1/4".. That's a lot of turns.

It can be done but would probably be abbout a 6 beer job.. Then you shouldn't be driving anyway so you'll have to put it back out again to stay the night and another 6 beer.. Well.. You see the pattern..

  • Update - weird one.
Called dealership to discuss options, he asked me to remove the switch and check for power, which I did. Had power at switch, started thinking it was the motor but wanted to test to make sure the 'on' switch was working. So I 1/2 plugged it in and tried testing with my test light to make sure there was power travelling through switch.

Accidently touched (spark) two of the plugs at same time and when I did I heard the motor blip. put down the test light and tried the switch and the slide comes in/out as normal.. Tested about 10 times and all is well.

Weird... But, I now have the required adaptor for manually bringing slide in. :):):)

  • It may not be the actual + side of your power that is the problem. Could also be a ground. There is some additional info on this thread on how I traced out my electrical issue on my slide... turned out it was a compromised ground: Intermittent Slide Issues
