- BB_TXNomadMaybe it is just me, but I blame GM 2500/3500 sales (or lack thereof) on their looks. Ram went to the "big truck" look with the bold grills years ago, followed by Ford shortly thereafter. GM stood by with the old look and it is hard to tell on the road with a quick look if it is a 1500, 2500, or 3500. And bigger and badder looks sells whether it means anything or not.

Why don't GM make more 3500?
It looks like because they can't sell them. :B
Maybe some truth in that, they tried on me, but Ram won out. - Iraqvet05ExplorerI didn't know Suzuki made a truck. I'm also suprised Cadillac is still making the Escalade with those low production numbers.
- ib516Explorer IIInteresting to see the break down between 1500, 2500, and 3500 series trucks.

Wait until 2015. At least that is the story on the street. :) - catfishmontanaExplorerGood Lord, Ford sells a lot more HD trucks than I would have thought.

Ram has highest % of HD diesels 80-85%. I expect that to go down a little with the 6.4L now. Ford is about 75% PSD and GM about 65%. I find it interesting given the GM 6.0L is the weakest for several years.
Agreed, the 6.0 is nowhere near as stout as the 8.1L...I had an 8.1, (496), and though it never met a filling station it didn't like, that was a stout engine...You'd think they could have worked with it....Hated to see that one go. - Turtle_n_PeepsExplorer

- 720DeereExplorerIt is nice to see all the classes split out like that. It sort of takes away the excuse that Ford's big numbers all come from the F150.
Last I heard, diesel accounts for just over 60% of F250/350 sales which makes sense because the 6.7 passed the 500,000 unit mark in about 3.5 years.
I don't pay enough attention to GM's marketing to be able to say if it favors the 2500, but most GM owners I know have no desire to own a 3500. I have no idea where that comes from as I have always preferred a 350/3500 SRW over the 250/2500 as anybody that tows heavy should.
