- tkhollywoodExplorerYou should be fine. I have a 2011 with the 5.0 and 373 gears my trailer has a 7400 lb dry weight, the truck pulls it fine and has more than enough power. I don't find the truck to be sluggish at all. IMO

No, he doesn't have the Max Tow or HD Payload package as his tow capacity is only 7500# and MaxTow is not avail with the 5L V8 and HD payload is as rare as hen's teeth. My guess is his GVWR is 7350# and GCWR is 13500#. If so, then 6k dry is a fairly good comfortable limit for most half tons including yours. - rfryerExplorerYou need to post all the specs on your F150 to really know where you stand. Remaining payload is the very first thing you need to look at and you’d need to weigh the TV to know that. If the TT doesn’t exceed any ratings it will pull it. I don’t have any experience with that much weight, but from reading these posts for a long time my feeling is you will looking for a bigger TV in a short time. The flats may be OK, but any grades will not be a fun experience.
- goducks10ExplorerRear gears do make a difference for towing as it shows in the tow guide. If Ford thought you could tow 11,000lbs with 3.15's then it would say that. IMO the issue is overall performance. Starting out would be sluggish compared to 3.73's, Keeping the load moving would also put a strain on the drive train. Less overall responsiveness with the 3.15's. Sure you could tow in 4th and more than likely it would be like 5th or 6th with 3.73's. But stomp on the gas and it won't have the same snappy feeling as 3.73's in a higher gear.
IMO the biggest set back will be trying to get that 6900lbs moving if you're on any kind of incline. If you're starting out on a hill and have to get up to 55-60mph it will take a lot of grunt to get all that moving with 3.15's. - JoeSassExplorerYou are right, have it confused with my mustang.
