Objective opinion from an anti-brand-loyalist:
Drive a Ram, drive a GM, drive a Ford, and if you still like the Ford best, buy it. If you fall for a Ram or GM, buy that.
Yes there have been some extremely well documented 6.7L pump failures and some other issues that have arisen but as you'll be under warranty (hopefully without the horrible situation ricatic endured) I wouldn't be afraid of it.
I read a great thought on the forums yesterday: someone said (paraphrasing) that he could stay in bed all day and have very slim odds of having something bad happening, or he could go out and enjoy life, do things he likes, and just accept that the odds of something crazy happening went way up by choosing to get out of bed.
I think not buying a 6.7L Super Duty solely for fear of pump failure is equivalent to staying in bed all day.
Now, a late model used diesel out of warranty? That's a different story and may justify pulling the covers over one's head LOL.
