2013 F350
How is the 2013 F350 Diesel doing for Pros & Cons? I may be looking for one soon, lots of deals going on now. Love to hear from anyone. Thanks.

- Did not know the 05's overheated.....had one, until a week or so ago. sold it......good truck, just do not need a crew cab dually anymore. If you want an overheating GM diesel, try out the pre 97 6.5diesels........had a 96, now that was one overheating SOB! Still wish I had the truck tho. Put dual t-stats, and the post 97 high flo waterpump, overheat issues went away!
I'll still take the one that fits my butt best.....ie the 96 over the 05, and now my 2000 is my main driver..........Besides, I like the 90's body style better than the new heavy duty ones.

Sorry to get off topic but search for posts by forum member killerbee; he's a DMax guru and from what I understand he can make your overheating issues go away.

After all, if you did the mouth piece mod and the V2 mod your done forever. The radiator deal; not so much. It's the gift that keeps on giving; or in this case, taking, from you. :W
This simply won't do in this world. Many thousands of dollars in animals need to have reliable transportation. Can't have a clients dogs stranded somewhere while the trial goes on without it, or worse be broke down under conditions that put the animals health at risk..
As quickly as the F450s arrived, they left.
So Ford forgot how to make a radiator around 2008, and they still haven't remembered.

As far as I know, only Geico offers it.
For obvious reasons it has to purchased when the vehicle is very new... IIRC 6-10 months is the cutoff.
It will pay for mechanical problems that the factory warranty for some reason will not. There is a small $50.00 ? deductible.
As I suspected when I signed up back in 2010, the rate goes up over time.
At first I was paying $16.00 for 6 months. It slowly crept up a dollar or two every 6 months. My 3/36 warranty expired in August. My December renewal reflects Geico's increased risk of a claim, as the premium jumped to 32.00 for 6 months.
Still a very good deal. I am sure that when the 100K powertrain warranty is up, that it will jump substantially.
What is interesting is that the GMs consistently have lower rates than the Fords for this coverage. My 3 1/2 year old GM is less than a brand new Ford!

One of the members here and a bit of an unwelcome guy at FTE, posted the numbers a while back. The coverage cost appears to vary depending on what one has for a factory extended warranty...IIRC, The last numbers I saw for a 2011 Ford 6.7 were $64 a quarter...same GM was $16 a quarter...maybe the man in the know will clear it up....
Even at $64 per quarter, it is cheap insurance against a Very likely denial of a $10000 Ford warranty claim...

Amen! I'm currently with Progressive and I'm going to look into this for our 2007 XC90 V8; it's out of warranty and I'd imagine that replacing the Aisin 6-speed (or the Yamaha-sourced V8 for that matter) would carry a higher price tag than I'd care to fork over.- thanks for the information and laughs.
