LOL. True, but every now & then it's fun to poke the harmlessly myopic in the ribs and it's all in good fun...I'd like to think Allworth was grinning when he posted too - LearjetExplorerDon't feed the troll :W

Total B. Stuff.
You obviously do not OWN a "gasser" let alone a 6.2 "gasser".
Instead of posting drivel about something you don't know beans about perhaps you should move along to the oil burners forum?
Let ME TELL YOU that so far I am SUPER impressed with my 2013 F250 with the 6.2 "gasser".
As far as I am concerned it will not have much problems keeping up with most oil burners given the same load.
As far as mileage well the new oil burners are simply not getting much better mileage than the "gassers" whether towing or empty. The new smog regs have really made the oil burners lose any real "value" (IE better mileage) and fuel is much more expensive.
For the OP, I have F250 2wd super cab short bed with 3.73 axle. I have about 3K miles on it and empty is getting about 15.
I have not towed any long distance as of yet but for a short 30 mile trip with my 5K empty TT only dropped the instant mileage a about .2 MPG.
But let me tell you this engine rocks! Had no problem pulling a 10% grade hill which has a stop light at the bottom ( Yeah PADots "finest" engineers) topping the hill at a easy 55 and was in 6th gear to boot!
I am expecting it to run about the same as my older F250s which have the 5.4 which would be 9.5-10.5.
It IS a truck and hauling a RV is like pushing cement blocks down the road without any tires under them.
RPM in my case for 65 MPH is about 1900, I wouldn't expect the 4.3 axle to be much more than 2200 at that speed.
I would expect in your case a bit lower mileage empty but not all that much (seems to me some reports were 14 ish).
I am looking forward to towing this summer with this beast! :B
I think you misunderstood Allworth's comment; when he says "tows like a gasser" he means it tows as well as a diesel in 95% of situations, does so on fuel that is much easier to find and costs 60 cents less per gallon, is quieter, has a much lower initial purchase price, and requires appreciably less maintenance.
Pretty sure that's what our broad-minded friend meant by that :W - GdetrailerExplorer III

To the OP I've been reading about these trucks ad nauseum. Slarsen pretty much summed it up. I would have one yesterday if the wallet allowed. Just waiting for some dominos to fall and I'm in. Seems like the best option for someone like me ... don't want the diesel cost and tow occasionally. The 6.7 I'm sure is a beast but this gas seems like it will fit my needs. Would like the 4.30 gears but the 3.73s are no slouch. - brholtExplorer III only have 1,500.miles on it but carrying an Artic Fox 1150 camper (5,000 lbs) on a 6.2L dually with 4.3 gears I started out getting 7.0 mpg and am now getting 9+ mpg. Hoping it keeps climbing to 10 as the engine breaks in but we will see.

Can't imagine you can get anything close to a 4:30 gearset in a F-250. But after looking you sure can. Can't imagine the mileage would be very good. It would be screaming at 60 mph
B.O.
I've got one on order (F350 DRW 4.30 gears), they have a 6 speed transmission with a double overdrive so it won't scream at 60 mph.

And he WAS just guessing. My Tundra with a 5.L and a 4:30 ran 1500 RPM @ 60 MPH. My F250 with the 6.2L does the same. - mudfuel07ExplorerHave one as a work truck, so it gets used. About 15-16 unloaded at 75-80mph. Loaded with about 15k or more, it will still pull down about 7-8. I don't like how the transmission wants to go to the top gears quickly to save mpg's, but I'm sure it could be tuned out. One of these will be my next truck when my V10 gives up the ghost.

Well I have one of those animals - a 2012 and yank a 11.5K fifth wheel with it. just went to the far side (gas) from a psd. Has the 4.30.
Had it on the road last winter and here is what I found out.
At 65 mph it is turning 2000 R's in 6th.
I only used the computer for a warm and fuzzy on the mileage. Got 8.6 at the worst and 8.7 at the best.
it pulls fine and I did run the smokies with it.
2000 rpm is quite reasonable for 4.30's at 65 mph....but with 6 speeds forward in a modern automatic transmission...and of those 6 speeds.... 6th and sometimes 5th....are generally more of overdrive ratios...which leads to relatively low rpm in these top gears at highway speeds.
At one time ...a 4.30 final drive ratio with a 3 speed (typical automatic 25 years ago) or 4 speed standard.... 4.30's would be drag strip gears and would be cause for high rpm at highway speeds.
