2013 Ram 3500 5th wheel hitch availability?

Anyone have a 5th wheel hitch installed in their 13 3500 Ram yet?

I have a Reese R16 I was hoping to move to a new 13 3500 but have been told parts are not yet available to install the rails. I was hoping a universal kit would work but dealer says no.

Anyone have information on availability from Reese or suggestions for alternative?

If you have the factory hitch package you are limited because Ram forgot about the adaptor you would need :S What a big blunder for Ram, IMO. Good news is Anderson Hitch has a GN type raised hitch that works with the Reese Elite GN ball. B & W is currently working on their hitch that will fit the tow package with the Ram 3500.
If you don't get the tow package you will have no problems with standard above the bed rails.
I myself hate my rails and my next truck will not have them.

    45,

I have rails in my current rig and don't mind having them in a new truck. You said there is no problem with standard above the bed rails. Can you please explain... Is there a mounting kit currently available? The Ram dealer I spoke with told me nothing was available yet to transfer my Reese R16. Do you have more information?

    Thanks

  • Just finished putting a fifth wheel hitch in my 2013 Ram 2500 shortbed. I didn't like the ones that required using a hole saw to put large holes in the bed to accept spacers, so I designed and built my own. A local welding shop fabricated the parts for me, and it turned out beautifully. PM me if you'd like more info and pics.
