You will have to point us to where it states the RAM had the Aisin tranny. They only show that the RAM had 4.10 gears, which are the best tow gears. This is a marketing video, not a third party comparison.
The video states the test was conducted with the best towing packages the competition has to offer... Well we know it can't be a 68 tranny don't you?
In addition when this video was published the guy that started PickTrucks.com who now work's for Ford came to this forum and answered some questions about the Ford produced video. He stated the RAM was the 850lb/Aisin equipped truck.NC Hauler wrote:

What about the test where Ford had to really dig and put an F450 up against the 3500? Doesn't seem fair, but if that's what had to be done to compete...I fully understand...
What makes it unfair? That the numbers on the badge aren't similar? Ford's F350 isn't rated as high a GVWR as the Ram. For an apples to apples test, they compared equally rated vehicles. For Ford it was the 450 (31,200 tow rating), for Ram it was the 3500 (30,000 tow rating).
Guess it is time to start testing a RAM 2500 against the F150 then?
Well, if it takes an F450 to beat the 3rd. place Ram 3500, which had a lower tow rating , then I guess in fords eye's it was fair.
As stated, we'll run a low end 2500/250 now against a re-vamped 1/2 ton to make it "fair"...myabe throw in a 3500 SRW to take on the "new and immproved" beefed up 2500/250's..yep, makes perfect sense....badges don't mean anything anyway:)
Perhaps the RAM 3500 is really a 4500. It's a marketing strategy by RAM, kinda like the Duramax was underated from it's real power numbers... again another marketing strategy.- NC_HaulerExplorer

I am not going to watch it again but I do not remember that anything was said about it being the 385/850 also I don't think it said 2013.
Bottom line it was a Ford sales promo.
More test data from the Gauntlet test would be nice like brake themps. - larry_barnhartExplorerwhen one brand came in 3rd place that brand owners all said who cares and " what difference does it make" I heard that somewhere. Now when that brand has come alive it seems to make a difference. It never made a difference who wins to me but I get a kick reading this story. Better than network tv. All brands will out do our 05 awesome tow vehicle.

Did RAM provide the truck for this marketing video, or did Ford choose the truck. They do not state if it is the Aisin equipped 385/850 truck, only stating it had 4:10 gears. It could have been the lower output 68RFE tranny truck. Chris - spoon059Explorer II

It towed up the mountains of Virginia and West Virginia effortlessly with my 10,000 pound trailer. What sold me was everything in it is medium duty. All other trucks are light duty. Why is it that Chevy and Ford always try to compare to the Cummins if it is no good? In my opinion Cummins makes the best diesel in all of the small trucks. Like has been said before if some of you would take your blinders off I think you would be impressed with what ram has to offer.
