What about the test where Ford had to really dig and put an F450 up against the 3500? Doesn't seem fair, but if that's what had to be done to compete...I fully understand...
What makes it unfair? That the numbers on the badge aren't similar? Ford's F350 isn't rated as high a GVWR as the Ram. For an apples to apples test, they compared equally rated vehicles. For Ford it was the 450 (31,200 tow rating), for Ram it was the 3500 (30,000 tow rating).
Guess it is time to start testing a RAM 2500 against the F150 then?
Well, if it takes an F450 to beat the 3rd. place Ram 3500, which had a lower tow rating , then I guess in fords eye's it was fair.
As stated, we'll run a low end 2500/250 now against a re-vamped 1/2 ton to make it "fair"...myabe throw in a 3500 SRW to take on the "new and immproved" beefed up 2500/250's..yep, makes perfect sense....badges don't mean anything anyway:)
Perhaps the RAM 3500 is really a 4500. It's a marketing strategy by RAM, kinda like the Duramax was underated from it's real power numbers... again another marketing strategy.
