Walked through a brand new 2015 AF865 at Apache Camper in Everett. What a nice layout in a camper. Even though it is a "mid-bathroom" there is enough room for both people to get out of the bed without having to climb over the other person. The dinette is great, pretty large and surrounded by windows. Very light and roomy inside for a non-slide. Decent size tanks. 60 lbs propane, twin batteries. Really well equipped for boon-docking. If it was just me and I was interested in a non-slide this would be my camper. According to Apache they had to order a production run of 20 campers to get Northwood to make them. Apparently Northwood believes there isn't a market for them. On the other hand Apache says they had sold 17 of them after the order but before Northwood started making them. I guess Apache does this at least once a year.If you want one there are only a few left. They had this one priced at $32,000

I was looking at those last fall great camper just a bit much for my f-250.

my dealer in New Hampshire also said they had a couple coming. he said only a couple dealers get them.

This is a TC that works with a SB truck.

There is only 1 TC for SB trucks with a rear slide out and that better be a 1 ton.

Look at what a side entry does for a SB TC. Loss of counter space or something else.

With a rear entry camper and occasional towing, I applied rough non-slip step tape to the trailer tongue. It makes a pretty good step.

The 865 is the floor plan I was shopping for. But no dealerships carried it. They kept telling me that this floorpan is slowly phasing out and I shouldn't consider it. I ended up buying a 811 floor plan which was also very difficult to find in California due to my 8ft bed truck. I ended up buying my 811 at Apache in Oregon, where I used to take my AF fifth wheel for repairs and maintenance all the times.
I'm very pleased with my 811, not sure if I could do without the slide out anymore.

My next TC will also be a side door with dry bath. I hope AF has one on the market when I have the funds saved up.

As far as worrying about the 865 on a 3/4t: There are plenty of people hauling 811's and 990's on these trucks, so you have nothing to worry about.

Very cool...... I just wish AF would build a side door model. Our next camper will be a side door model most likely. AF has about 2 years to get it done...

Awesome lay out. I too looked at Truck camper Warehouse at them. Just to heavy for me. Loved the windows. That said. That is the same bathroom lay out as the 2015 Adventurer 89RB that I did end up buying.Very roomy.

The 865 was a new model when I was camper shopping back in 2009. I looked at them long and hard.
