I can't imagine pulling 24,000lbs up any kind of hill with a 350, 450, or even a 550.
..., but with the power specs on today's diesels, the uphill part will be no problem at all.
Maybe. They are packing some punch nowadays, which is what men want and will pay for.
I've never been in a towing contest with one, but I'm sure we'll get honest answers on here about how somebody can tow 24k at 60mph up a 5% grade! And get 10mpg doing it.
I wished I could get 10mpg... TH is 19,900lbs, pin weight 3,800lbs, Truck's weight 10,000lbs... We get about 8 - 8.5mpg, and that is at 55-60mph. I take the grades slower, no reason to tear my equipment up trying to get somewhere 5 minutes sooner.
