B). I have never been extremely wild about having a plastic oil pan.
Looks like Ford agrees with you. :) - The_Mad_NorskyExplorer

One guy posts a video about the size of the 6.7 rods and now we think Ford has rampant rod bending issues?
I posted the video ONLY to have a picture available of the Ford connecting rods, as they were being discussed in the topic at hand here.
Rampant bending issues??? I really highly doubt that.
And as far as pertaining to the 2015 version coming out, as some have alluded to earlier, it is my understanding that even though the 2015 is version II of the 6.7L, many of the components and design characteristics will be identical to earlier 2011-2014 engines.
Good grief. Just look at how many versions of the Duramax have been made since its first introduction... then again, :o its had a lot more success than any of the Ford diesels made at the same time period. :S
I am seriously thinking about going with a 2015. Power, I have enough now. But I would like:
A). better brakes used on 2012 and forward vehicles and;
B). I have never been extremely wild about having a plastic oil pan. - AH64IDExplorer

Got as much as my old 7.3 and that was plenty
Yes, but harder to break into the market with power that could be had 10-15 years ago. - hone_eagleExplorerGot as much as my old 7.3 and that was plenty

Toyoda is also signed on with cummins ,they will install the 5.0 diesel same as nissan, bet they are both HD trucks
They might be HD 1/2 tons, but they are supposed to still be the same 1/2 ton truck.
The Cummins ISV does have medium duty ratings, but power is low enough that I don't think you will see it in a 3/4 or 1 ton. - hone_eagleExplorerToyoda is also signed on with cummins ,they will install the 5.0 diesel same as nissan, bet they are both HD trucks

Ric,
I've read a lot of your posts and have always been impressed with your factual nature. You've made your issue clear without jumping on the "Ford just sucks" bandwagon. Refreshing.
Should we add droppes valves, failed turbos, failed CP4.2's, and lack of Ford standing behind their warranty. Oh never mind, have another cup of BKA.
Far from blue koolaid. Look at my history. I'm just waiting for Toyota to bring a 1 ton diesel to the US market. Ford has had lots of issues with their engines, but let's not go and invent more just because... - wnjjExplorer II

Talk about bent rods due to a hydrolock is just silly. That would be like saying the GM interior plastic is inferior when it melts after the ensuing fire from rusted fuel lines.
I see what you did there, and it made me laugh. ;) - Me_AgainExplorer III
